Tablet Roses

Quick & short update of some of the things I've done lately!  I recently got a graphics tablet which so far I am really enjoying. I've used them before so It's not completely new to me, but I feel there are lots of things that I still need to get used to whilst using it! Hopefully once I've been using it for a while I can give it a short review. So far all I've added to the drawings below using the tablet was the harsh outlines.  These two illustrations were ones that I made today. I haven't really sat down and drawn anything properly for while so I felt like a doodle was due. Its quite satisfying to sit in the sun with my headphones on, and scribble down some initial ideas. Even more so when I design something I like enough to further develop it. The two illustrations below look fairly similar but in fact I had a slightly different approach with each of them.  Sketched out with a liquid ink fine liner. Watercolour blotches scanned in and added ...

Moleskines

I bought a new sketch pad, how interesting . I quickly decided, after starting my visual diary, that the sketchbook I had chosen to do it in was a bit big and bulky. I want this project to be a bit more of a personal thing, so I decided to do it something smaller than a sketch book that I could carry around with me and that may eventually look slightly tattered by the end of summer. So far I've only really scribbled down some of the fun things I've done, and not yet the boring stuff, which I will eventually begin adding, I suppose in an attempt to make them seem less dull.  I have been recommended to try the Moleskine range in the past, but have always dismissed their products purely due to their expense, which is moderately high, and being a student obviously I am poor as  fuck . But a...

June & Change

So between preparing to return back to essex during my final week of university for the year, and then actually travelling home with my overwhelming amount of belongings, I unsurprisingly haven't been drawing that much. My goal of blogging weekly hasn't materialised just yet, but hopefully now I'm back for summer this can and will now happen. For me, 2014 has flown by ridiculously fast. Not only has my first year of university finished already, but we're almost half way through June too. Mad. June is my favourite month, partly because thats typically when the weather changes for the better, but mainly because it's my birthday month yay .  summer vibes I love June Over the last year I'd say my life, and the majority of the peoples lives around me, have changed quite progressively. I came across a saying the other week which has stuck with me since. This saying was 'If you change nothing, nothing will change'. This made me realise that if you really ...
