I bought a new sketch pad, how interesting. I quickly decided, after starting my visual diary, that the sketchbook I had chosen to do it in was a bit big and bulky. I want this project to be a bit more of a personal thing, so I decided to do it something smaller than a sketch book that I could carry around with me and that may eventually look slightly tattered by the end of summer. Essentially, that is what I'm doing, documenting my summer. The boring daily rituals that I resign myself too, and also the exciting occurrences that arise. So far I've only really scribbled down some of the fun things I've done, and not yet the boring stuff, which I will eventually begin adding, I suppose in an attempt to make them seem less dull.
I have been recommended to try the Moleskine range in the past, but have always dismissed their products purely due to their expense, which is moderately high, and being a student obviously I am poor as fuck. But a student loan is a wonderful thing, so I bought one. They're pretty cool, lots of illustrators use them as their go to method of recording ideas whilst on the go. They've been around for a long time and subsequently built up quite a large recognition for themselves, and have brought out many other products other than their original sketch/writing pads. But I opted for the original. I have to say the paper is much thinner than I'd expected, and I can't assure I would have purchased it had it not been wrapped in plastic packaging so I could actually have felt the paper. I think its mainly aimed at people that work heavily in pencil? As obviously pencil won't leak to the other side of the page like a pen does. Great job I only work in pen then isn't it! So yeah, not a great start. Looks pretty professional though.

A couple of images of the sketch pad ^
And of course here are some more examples of what I've added so far. Using liquid ink of course!
