messing with watercolours

I love the concept of the summer project I have been set! I feel that recording my life visually is a much more interesting way of keeping a diary rather than presenting my experiences in a written format. I think this task will be extremely beneficial for me. I love to draw, and I know that once I start I have a great pleasure in creating something that I can be proud of. However for the last week or two I've felt pretty uninspired to say the least. I haven't so much as picked up a pen let alone created anything worth presenting. Theres only one way to get out of that frame of mind though, and that is to push yourself. The best way to work through a rough patch is just to keep creating, despite the fact that you may think what you are creating is slightly shit. Thats why a diary in which I can draw everyday, be it a doodle if I'm feeling lazy, or a half decent drawing, will be great for keeping me inspired! I decided to leap right into it, and created a title page of course because thats fun.

quick watercolour created whilst half asleep.
As you can see I used the wrong pen here as it bleeds into the watercolour... I'm learning.
Then, as you do in a diary, I drew something I did, which was adding blue to the tips of my hair. This drawing is crazily exaggerated, e.g it didn't/I don't look like that, obviously. But yeah, I love drawing hair and eyes and profiles in general really so that was something I guess I just had to start with!

Sketched out with a pilot liquid ink pen. I usually go straight in with pen because I really just hate pencils. The blue is water colour. The grey is photoshop. I cant resist cleaning up in photoshop, just makes it look better all round really!
Thanks for reading/looking at the pictures.

The Perfect Cup of Tea

Soooo, Ive been looking further into the posible options for this project. At the moment I think I have whittled the choice down to two, and I am definatley struggling with any further desicion making! My first possible choice: The perfect cup of tea. This choice would lead me to creating something based on  step by step instructons through illustration.  Throughout our lives we come across such commodities as road signs, escape routes, aeroplane safety instructions. Most are mainly conveyed through simple illustrations, as to be understood quickly and efficiently in possible times of panic. Although I would not consider 'How to make the perfect cup of tea' a particular urgency, I will definitely be able to take inspiration from the above instructions to help with the project.   In June 2011, Richard Alleyne a former science correspondent, and senior general news reporter for the Daily Telegraph until April 2013, wrote an article on how scientists had discov...

Fun with Photoshop

One of my original drawings for my Methodology project stood out to me from the beginning. It was this of three childlike Fennec Foxes adventuring through the Sahara. To me it seems that the three foxes are young, perhaps this is the first time they have ventured out of their den without their mother. Obviously they are cartoon characterisations of the Fennec Fox , but there is a charm about them that inspired me to continue to draw these creatures as well as the Red Fox .  Ive always been very fond of enhancing my artwork through Photoshop, although I'm still learning how to properly manage the software to its full potential.  Origional drawing After having been manipulated in Photoshop
